Privacy

This site shows UK fuel prices published by the government's Fuel Finder service. It has no accounts, no adverts, no cookies and no tracking or analytics.

Your location

If you choose "Use my location", your browser shares your position with this page. The page sends those coordinates with each search so distances can be worked out. They are used to answer that search and are not stored.

Postcode searches

A postcode you type is sent to postcodes.io, a free UK postcode service, to find where it is. Lookups are kept by postcode only, so the next search for the same postcode is quicker.

"Still accurate?" votes

When you vote on a price, we store the vote, the station, the price it was about and a random ID that your browser made. The ID is not linked to you; it only lets each browser have one vote per price. Votes are deleted after 24 hours.

On your device

Your browser keeps your choices (fuel, radius, map on or off) and that random ID in its local storage. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Connection details

Your IP address is used briefly to limit how many votes and postcode lookups one connection can make. It is not stored. The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles the requests that deliver it.

The map

If you open the map, its pictures load from OpenStreetMap's servers, which see your IP address like any website you visit.

Prices

Prices come from Fuel Finder (GOV.UK) and can be wrong or out of date: check at the pump. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
